Can’t find what you need here? We’re happy to talk.
How early do I need to book a wedding caterer?
Ideally, you should book a caterer 10-12 months in advance. Some dates, especially in June, are very popular. At the very least, you can usually still book six months out.
How much does wedding catering cost? What does that include?
Wedding catering typically costs $50-$150 per head. It varies widely based on the level of service; Everyday Gourmet can be as hands-off (a delivery drop-off) or hands-on (full-service cocktail hour and reception) as required.
How do I hire a caterer for my wedding?
To reserve your wedding date and contract Everyday Gourmet, a 25% non-refundable deposit is collected. This is an estimate based on the initial proposal and will go toward your final balance, regardless of what that may be.
Can you serve traditional/culturally significant cuisine at my wedding?
Yes. We recommend scheduling a tasting so our chefs can work to get the flavors just right.
Do I need to tip my caterer?
Gratuity is appreciated but never expected! If you decide to add a tip, consider a set dollar amount per staff member.
Do caterers provide bartending services as well as food?
Many smaller catering companies do not. However, Everyday Gourmet has a full banquet license that allows us to provide liquor, wine, and beer. Consider adding signature bride and groom cocktails!
Can I provide my own alcohol at my wedding reception?
Certainly! Your Catering Specialist will provide you with a detailed estimate of how much wine, beer, and liquor will be needed, and EG will supply the mixers, fruit, and all other bar set-up equipment for a lower cost. Be sure to apply for an ABC banquet license at least 90 days out from your wedding date.
Who takes care of the clean up?
We do of course! All food and beverage stations will be set up, maintained, and cleaned up by our attentive staff. In most cases we can also help with the set-up and breakdown of tables, chairs, and tableware.
Do you cater small weddings? How about budget weddings?
Yes. Our Catering Specialists will work within your wedding budget. Services like passed appetizers, action stations, and plated dinners can be pricey whereas stationary appetizers and a buffet style dinner can be much more cost-effective. Many caterers, including Everyday Gourmet, have wedding catering packages that can be an affordable catering option. Also consider serving dinner or cocktail hour on eco-friendly disposable plates instead of rental tableware!
What areas do you service? Can you travel?
Everyday Gourmet is a top Richmond caterer, in addition to serving the surrounding counties with our award-winning service. In some cases, if our schedule allows, we can cater events up to 100 miles from our kitchen for an additional travel-time fee for our employees.
When is Final payment due?
We recommend setting up a payment schedule with your catering specialist to start your new life on the right foot. After the 25% deposit is collected, a payment equal to 50% of the remaining balance would be collected 30 days before the wedding. The final invoice will be issued 5 days after the wedding, and the final payment is due 30 days after the wedding date.
